Amsham Travels was established in 1969 by Mr. S. Ragunathan, a former employee of Air France, who had served in Delhi and Mumbai. His primary aim was to assist ethnic Pondicherians in completing the formalities to travel to France. Amsham Travels gained legal entity in 1976 as a partnership firm and became the first IATA accredited travel agency in Pondicherry in the year 1980, a milestone in the history of Pondicherry. The same year leisure group tour service was launched and its first group tour was organized to Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia. |

By 80’s Amsham Travels transformed itself into a professional organization. Realizing the need to serve its customers in a better way, a liaison office was established in Chennai. Later Chennai operations became a branch location with IATA accreditation.
With the entry of Internet in 90’s Amsham Travels introduced Computerized Reservation System (CRS) for air travel, again another first in the history of Pondicherry. |
